Whether healthy or not, we are going to die, but....
All lives have the day of birth and the day of death. That is life. No one is exception.
Some called this a journey. There are lots of stories, fallacies and even religious statements about our lives. That is good for those believers, not me.
So if we all have to die, why bother about health? Certainly, all of us wish and try to have good and healthy journey. Achievement is a luxury and only a few of us would enjoy.
When one gets old, may be over 50 normally, one has to think about the final miles. The closer to the last day, the harder would be for our choice. After reading "In New York City, Two Versions of End-of-Life Care ", it really is a sad thing to demand more visits from doctors. May be for those who do not have family members and try not to die in a lonely way will prefer this.
It is not possible to have the true report about how one feels before his/her death. Normally, every one would have various organs ceased to function leading to the last breath. I remember that there was a group of specialist researching about life after death years ago. They all suggested that when one died, he/she should try to communicate with the group member. Of course, nothing had happened. That means what we can know will be by observation and assumption.
I think that our choices for the very last period are different. This will be related to religion, tradition, personality etc. Certainly, the poor may die without regrets and perhaps a sense of relief too. The rich may die with lots of regrets because it is hard to depart from one's fortune.
For my topic, I shall say that if our organs have served with all their strength, we have nothing to regret. It is easy to say and hard to do, especially in modern time. I have said that without enjoyment in life, it is a sad thing. Remember that we have one journey only.
So let's enjoy more when we were young. After middle age, we must work to be sure that the last period of our lives can be smooth without hardship. In peaceful days, that is not impossible.
The news, "French fashion king Yves Saint Laurent dies", reminds me that the last few years before the last day should be very important. Why such talent had to suffer? I suppose that he had not or could not take care of his health, physically or mentally. That is a lesson we have to learn. Do not rely on money; that just for more visits by doctors or more useless treatments.
