Nothing better than be a diabetes patient myself -3
My case may be easy to manage because I discover it earlier. I do thank the insurance company, otherwise I might not know until sometime later.
Knowing the symptoms should be an important part of our lives.
From the "Diabetes Mellitus", the general symptoms cover
increased urine output;
increased thirst;
weight loss despite an increase in appetite;
fatigue, nausea and vomiting.
From other sources, the additional symptoms are blur eyesight and multifocal sensory neuropathy including numbness etc.
In fact, about a year ago, I had some minor problem. The fingers and feet were numb occasionally. I had checked and could not come out with any confirmation.
About nine months ago, when I went to replace my eye glass, the optometrist told me that my right eye was hard to examine. Therefore he chose the lower adjustment for safety. He also said that it was a common behavior to use one eye that lead to such problem. Yes, I did find that I used my right eye only. I started to concentrate to use both eyes to see.
After finding the diabetes problem, I discussed with that optometrist again. He knew that some people like my age would have blur eyesight but he remembered that no one had blur eyesight with one eye only. I may be the exception.
The conclusion now is if someone is over 50, any similar symtoms whether listed or not in related information, it is always better to apply urine test to confirm.
