good health

Almost every one of us are born with a healthy body, yet suffers various illness thereafter. It costs very little for our lives to start, but costs greatly for medical care until we pass away. All medical studies, researches and operations are run as business, or perhaps by business. We need them, even though we suffer from illness as well as the bill to recover our bodies. Therefore, I believe that we have treated our bodies in a wrong way so that we must get sick throughout our time.

When everything is counted by money, can human remain human?

It might start tens of years, when victims of all type of accidents began to get compensation. Yes, who would not? Yet such kind of practice now becomes a threat to our world.

Doctors are supposed to save our lives. Medical mistakes may not be fully avoided. Compensation may offer some kind of release to the pain of harm or even loss of lives. Yet when doctors have to give up or migrate to somewhere to avoid facing unpredicted financial burden against any chance of making so called malpractice, it is definitely a sad outcome of today's world.

There are insurance to protect doctors, but the premium would be another kind of burden for good doctors. I remember that some years ago, there was a TV program interviewing with a family of doctors who said that they might give up because they could not afford the high insurance premium for their surgical practice.

Cost of making mistakes is quite normal. But when the compensation is unreasonable, it is not doing any good for all of us. Yes, life is priceless. Putting the cost of life in hundred thousands or million or tens of millions are setting price to life instead. So it means that our lives are not priceless anymore, something like a priced product.

With such wrong direction, no wonder why the medical charge goes up and up, especially when we have fewer doctors.

There may not be any good solution except that we must not be ill, or at least not so serious to have surgery or strong medicine.
