good health

Almost every one of us are born with a healthy body, yet suffers various illness thereafter. It costs very little for our lives to start, but costs greatly for medical care until we pass away. All medical studies, researches and operations are run as business, or perhaps by business. We need them, even though we suffer from illness as well as the bill to recover our bodies. Therefore, I believe that we have treated our bodies in a wrong way so that we must get sick throughout our time.

I am confused now, do you?

They had mentioned the threat about bird flu when there were such cases in China. Yet after investigation, they said that situations were under control. Of course, the later would have very little exposure to contra the first warning. So we were frightened.

Now, with the possible or may be confirmed human to human bird flu in Indonesia, they said in low profile and hinting that we need not worry. Check: "Human-to-Human Infection by Bird Flu Virus Is Confirmed".

Why they have different attitude? We all trust scientists would not lie.

I believe that it is the same case as I pointed out about Time Magazine. After they have Chinese staff, every bad thing about China would be emphasized if not misguided.

The sad truth is most news about China was based on the news in Hong Kong, Taiwan etc. Of course, there are good and bad cases everywhere, China is no exception. If there were something bad, most countries would have such news, but never repeated day after day, week after week. That is different in Hong Kong.

If it is political cases, I do accept that foreign countries have to take whatever possible to suppress the rising up of China, especially they might be sad that they had not split up China years ago. However, for medical cases that should not be political, all people in the world need true information and not political advertisement. It is a shame to have such guys in scientific bodies.

Medical mistakes may be deadlier than any virus

By reading "Campaign on Hospital Errors Saves Lives", we should be glad that over a hundred thousands lives had been saved.

We may never be able to have the statistics of death caused by medical mistakes. No doctor would put this in black and white. Of course, even if that happened, doctors were not killers and never intended to do any harm. If such errors were due to the lack of doctor, overworked nurse etc., we could only blame the medical system.

When shall we have a perfect medical system? No way, we can be safe only by not falling ill.

One friend told me that her big brother was killed by medical mistake years ago. It happened that the nurse had put the wrong air pipe. The worst thing was that her mother was there by the bed and watched the son smothering to death and failed to get attention by any nurse.

Somehow, it may not be good to know too much because we need hospitals, we need doctors, we need nurses and it would be better to blame on our fate, or perhaps as the latest finding said, it is our gene that caused the problem.
