Are your doctor forced by drug salesman to prescribe for certain brand medicine?
From the news of the New York Times, "Doctors Object to Gathering of Drug Data", prescription records have been a tool for drug makers. Fortunately, some doctors are fighting to stop this practice.
Not only manipulating the test and hiding the facts, drug makers are watching over the doctors so that prescription of their medicine must be done. So it was not the doctor's decision alone. How poor we are?
Of course, data has become a moneymaking object. Drug stores may get extra earning by selling these records. Can any regulation or law stop such kind of activity? I believe not. There is no way to stop the selling of something in someone's hand. Even the mobile phone records are sold by services providers, what else cannot?
